Megan has been a horse lover her whole life.  She developed this passion for horse
travel at a young age. Growing up in Urban Metro-Chicagoland areas, she hardly rode
on wooded horse trails so she took to riding the streets. Riding to the mall, grocery
store, busy streets, bridges and roads through rush hour never phased her or her
horse.  You name it, she rode every kind of urban terrain there was and even through
fast food drive-thrus! This never changed over time which developed into her
inspiration for riding her horse across America one day, Old West Style.

In 2008, Megan contacted the Long Rider's Guild on "how to make a Long Ride" and
they have mentored her through every expedition since.  Megan is a strong advocate of
Ethical Horse Travel and a friend of the Guild. In the past three years, Megan has set
out on four long rides and her equine partners have taken her a totalling of 1200
inconsecutive miles. For more information on The Long Rider's Guild, please visit their
